Let me ask you something, do you ever get butterflies in the
stomach or does your heart skips a beat when you see someone? Falling for
someone is pure feeling of love and is very rare nowadays but if one is lucky
enough to feel for someone, he/she should hold on to the person forever in life
no matter what. But in India, as the saying goes it is not just about two
individuals falling in love with each other instead their families should also
love and accept each other. This is one such story.
Rajeev Khurana was one of the biggest industrialists in
Chandigarh. Like a typical Punjabi family, his family was also big & fat
consisting of his parents, wife and son Rajbir, his brother and his wife with
their two daughters and a dog staying in the same house. On the other hand,
there was Manjeet Mehra associated with the same business of textiles as that
of Mr Khurana. They both were very renowned business tycoons in Chandigarh.
They were business rivals and thus, they never crossed each other's path and were
happy to keep it that way. Manjeet’s family consisted of his son, wife and
their daughter Simrat and her Nani. Both families never visited each other’s
house irrespective of living just opposite to each other. They always tried to
constrain themselves to their own work and never interfered with each other’s
life. But when things are meant to go south, they will.
Both Simrat and Rajbir went to the same college and as if it
was meant to happen, they went against all odds and fell for each other. They
were head over heels in love with each other which would obviously not be
acceptable to their families. Somehow hiding from their families, they went on
meeting each other. But as every good thing has to end, their relation was on
the verge of facing the same heat. Simrat’s brother Ranjit had seen them
outside the college and realised about their relationship. He immediately informed
his parents and confronted Rajbir’s parents regarding the same. Like every
other relationship goes the girl has to take most of the bullets, she was put
under house arrest. There was no means of communication left between them and
they felt like their entire world came to a halt. Days & days passed by.
Ranjit was in some confusion regarding why his sister was acting weird &
always sitting beside the gate. One day Simrat started shouting in between a
conversation with her Nani which was odd for the entire family. One day she was
continuously shouting words like connected, no network, message delivered etc.
These were nothing but code words for her and Rajbir. The family was in dilemma
that has she lost her mind due to the recent mayhem in her life. She used to hide something in her dupatta
which was suspected by her brother but he never got a chance to catch her
red-handed. One fine day besides the gate of the bungalow she started shouting
that the Wifi connection lost and the message delivered to the wrong person.
Her Nani had got the message written in some lovely words which put her Nani in
awe and she started admiring who was this Buddha who was sending her these
lovely messages. The old lady was in sought of confusion like who was trying to
become Mr Chaddha from Kal Ho Naa Ho. The miscommunication had caused chaos in
the house. The thing which Simrat used to hide in her dupatta were the chits
she uses to receive from Rajbir.
One fine day, the entire Mehra family was out for a family
wedding leaving behind just Simrat with her Nani. Suddenly, Nani felt severe
pain in her chest and soon she was rushed to the nearest hospital with the help
of Rajbir. The entire Mehra family rushed to the hospital as soon as they got
the news. Knowing that it was Rajbir who came to rescue when they needed someone
the most. It was like a sunrise of good relations for both the families leaving
their grudges behind. But, Ranjit couldn’t stop wondering on how did Rajbir got
the message of his Nani’s condition when there was no way of communication. He
thought of asking about this to Rajbir and when he asked, Rajbir being agnostic
panicked & got blank. Seeing this, Simrat came to his rescue &
disclosed the truth about how they both use to send chits to communicate with
each other by using code words and kept in touch through Rajbir’s dog named
“Wi-Fi”.
There may be restrictions for human beings to enter but who
would say no to a cute dog.
